The Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO) and its Music Director Robin Ticciati presented a highlight right at the beginning of their new season. On Sunday, 25 September 2022, they brought Ethel Smyth's opera 'The Wreckers' in the German premiere of the original French version with the title 'Les Naufrageurs' to the stage of Berlin's Philharmonie (concert version). As soloists were to be heard in what is arguably the most important music-theatrical work by the British composer Karis Tucker (mezzo-soprano - Thurza), Philip Horst - bass-baritone (Pasko), Lauren Fagan (soprano - Avis), Rodrigo Porras Garulo (tenor - Mark), Marta Fontanals-Simmons (mezzo-soprano - Jacquet), Daniel Scofield (baritone - Laurent), Donovan Singletary (bass-baritone - Harvey) and Jeffrey Lloyd-Roberts (tenor - Tallan). The Rundfunkchor Berlin (Chorusmasters: Ines Kaun and Aidan Oliver) took over the choral parts.
