Marketing cookies, tracking pixels, tags, and similar technologies are used by third parties to show users targeted personalized ads on other websites. They do this by tracking visitors across websites. These providers (e.g. Facebook, Google) are sometimes located outside Europe, where the level of data protection may be lower than in Germany.
