In the 2020-21 season the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin is present in the Berliner Philharmonie with more than 30 concerts. Besides numerous projects with its principal conductor Robin Ticciati, the DSO can regularly be experienced under renowned guest conductors, amongst them Conductor laureate Kent Nagano and former music director Ingo Metzmacher as well as Sir Simon Rattle, Sir Roger Norrington, Yutaka Sado, Leonard Slatkin, Ton Koopman, Simone Young and many more. The symphony concerts in the Philharmonie all begin at 8 pm. The DSO offers a pre-concert introduction at 7.10 pm. Habakuk Traber, musicologist and author, provides 30 minutes of insights into the form and content of the works played, presents interesting facts about their composition and reception and offers listening samples using recordings.
