Experience the Creation of Music
The Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin invites children and young people to experience music being created. They are offered the chance to get to know the orchestra and its rehearsal work from first-hand experience.
Anyone who comes to watch a rehearsal becomes a participant and experiences the musical landscape of the work in close-up. The youngsters can sit – depending on the venue – next to their favourite instrument and explore the work in listening to the rehearsal. They experience the conductor’s interaction with the orchestra and how he influences and inspires them.
In the run-up to the rehearsal one of our educators and a musician will come to class. They give information on how an orchestra works, talk about the music being rehearsed and include some individually tailored musical activities as well. On the rehearsal date there is a short introduction, followed by the rehearsal itself and a question and answer session, for sharing and comparing impressions.
Rehearsal visits last about 90 minutes, can be attended mornings and are free of charge.
Please make sure to contact us in good time to arrange a date for your class.
