Concert on 15 March at the Philharmonie Berlin under the auspices of Claudia Roth, Minister of State for Culture and Media

On 15 March, the DSO and renowned musical friends gave a solidarity concert for Ukraine to send a widely audible signal for peace and freedom and to protest against the attack on Ukraine in violation of international law with the means of music. Under the baton of Alan Gilbert, the DSO, together with violinist Lisa Batiashvili, tenor Rolando Villazón, pianist Kirill Gerstein, oboist François Leleux, singer Max Raabe and pianist Ian Wekwerth, as well as the Rundfunkchor Berlin and its Principal Conductor Gijs Leenaars, brought a varied and moving programme to the stage of the Berlin Philharmonie. All participants waived their fees on this evening, all proceeds and donations went to the ‘Bündnis Entwicklung Hilft’ and the ‘Aktion Deutschland Hilft’.
