Concert on 6 October in Kyiv in memory of the victims of Babyn Yar

On Wednesday 6 October, the DSO took part in the official commemoration of the 80th anniversary of the mass murder of Jews in Babyn Yar in September 1941 at the site of the crime. Invited by the Babyn Yar Holocaust Memorial Center and in the presence of the Presidents of Israel, Ukraine and Germany, the orchestra performed Dmitri Shostakovich's Symphony No. 13, conducted by Thomas Sanderling and with the participation of bass-baritone Albert Dohmen and the men of the Kiev Municipal Chamber Choir.
