Symposium ›Afrodiaspora – Composing While Black‹ 07.12.25

On Sunday, 7 December 2025, the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO) hosted a symposium entitled “Afrodiaspora – Composing While Black” at the Musical Instrument Museum Berlin. Together with renowned experts from academia and practice, the DSO explored its season focus of the same name and opened up new perspectives on Afro-diasporic classical music with lectures, presentations and a panel discussion. The symposium was held in cooperation with the State Institute for Music Research (SIM) and the Hais der Kulturen der Welt (HKW).
