Whether young or old – Computer games are part of daily life for people from all age groups, and their importance is growing continuously. Music has always been an integral part of games, usually composed explicitly for them, and it is gaining more and more recognition and has increasingly been performed live in concert halls as well.
Together with ARD Klassik and Rundfunk Berlin-Brandenburg (rbb), on Friday, 23 October 2026, the DSO is bringing music from epic computer games to the concert hall – as part of the new ARD series ›Game on Symphony‹. It will include soundtracks to game series such as ›Tomb Raider‹, ›Kingdom Come: Deliverance‹ and ›Final Fantasy‹, some of which date back as far as the 1980s and have thrilled several generations of gaming fans.
The public is not only invited to attend the concert in the Großer Sendesaal in Berlin’s Haus des Rundfunks. ›Game on Symphony is also bringing the music to where the gaming community feels at home: the video platform Twitch; it will also be streamed live on the YouTube channel of ARD Klassik.
