Zum Konzert

1791 was an eventful year: While Mozart composed his Requiem as he lay dying, battles for democracy were raging all around the world: not only in France but also overseas. In this programme, the conductor Jeannette Sorrell weaves together Mozart’s famous, unfinished Requiem with excerpts from four works by contemporary American composers that address questions of memory, tradition, racism and striving for liberty.
