Casual Concerts are the Deutsche Symphonie-Orchester Berlin’s young, communicative concert format; for ten years now they have been bringing art closer to the heartbeat of modern life.

The concerts begin later than usual, at 8:30 pm, last a little more than an hour, and are moderated by the conductor and soloists. The focus is usually on a selected work that is presented in dialogue and with the help of examples from the orchestra before being heard in its entirety. The concerts are also visually “casual”: you’ll look in vain for tailcoats and evening gowns on stage. All tickets are at the attractive low price of €18 (reduced price €10); free choice of seats.

After the concert, the concept of openness continues in the foyer of the Philharmonie, where the Casual Concert Lounge invites anyone who is curious to meet the artists and enjoy a relaxed close to the evening. Johann Fanger, DJ in Residence at the lounge, will ensure the right sound, and a live act shaped by the exciting new discoveries on the international band scene will expand your musical horizon.
