About the concert
The Queen appointed the only 31-year-old in 2016 a Member of the Order of the British Empire. Alina Ibragimova is one of the most versatile violinists: Her repertoire ranges from Baroque to contemporary, her performances regularly take her from the BBC Proms to the Concertgebouw in Amsterdam, and her work has earned her awards such as the annual ›German Record Critics’ Award‹ and the ›Exceptional Young Talent‹ award from the Critics’ Music Circle. This evening she is playing Beethoven’s Violin Concerto in Berlin and will question everything you thought you knew about this work with her art of interpretation. As a bonus, you get to hear the D major Symphony by Beethoven’s underestimated contemporary, Jan Václav Voříšek: a discovery!
