Farewell concerts Martin Grubinger on 28 and 29 January 2023

The spectacular performances of multi-percussionist Martin Grubinger make each of his concerts an exceptional event. Before the 39-year-old ends his career in the summer of 2023, he celebrated his Berlin stage farewell with the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin (DSO) at the Philharmonie. Under the direction of Andris Poga, Grubinger performed the percussion concerto dedicated to him by the Icelander Daníel Bjarnason on Saturday 28 January and Sunday 29 January. The cheers in the audience were great, standing ovations for Martin Grubinger, who once again amazed everyone with his encore. The programme also included Mussorgsky's sombre tone poem 'A Night on the Bald Mountain' and a suite from Prokofiev's rousing ballet 'Romeo and Juliet'.
