Berlin students and DSO members presented the results of their current collaboration at a concert in the Villa Elisabeth on 15 January.
Since 2015, orchestra members of the DSO have been mentoring chamber music ensembles of all ages at Berlin schools. They offer professional guidance in rehearsing works, provide technical assistance in playing and facilitate an intensive exchange about and through music – with the aim of getting young people excited about this wonderful form of communication and encouraging them to explore it independently. The results of the collaboration with ensembles consisting of pupils from the Heinz-Berggruen-Gymnasium, the Canisius-Kolleg, the Droste-Hülsoff-Gymnasium and the Katholische Schule Salvator were presented – thanks to generous financial support from the Friends of the DSO – at the annual concert in the Villa Elisabeth on 15 January.
