Film production in the Berlin Sisyphos club

On 14 January, the DSO will release the third part of its extraordinary film production ‘IM EXIL – VON GÖTTERN UND MENSCHEN’ (In Exile – Of Gods and Men) on its ➔ DSO PLAYER. The finale was directed by Frederic Wake-Walker and filmed in the Berlin Sisyphos club, which as an important cultural space of the Berlin scene is emblematic of all the venues left unplayed due to the lockdown. The industrial character of the former factory is reflected in the production’s musical program: conducted by Robin Ticciati, the film features ‘Dusty Rusty Hush’ for orchestra by Ondřej Adámek. The Berlin-based Czech composer wrote the piece for a disused steelworks, now the Industrial Museum in Brandenburg an der Havel. In addition, the DSO presents a performative improvisation in the concert film, which the orchestra created together with its Music Director Robin Ticciati, Ondřej Adámek and director Frederic Wake-Walker.
