The Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin invites children and young people to experience music being created. They are offered the chance to get to know the orchestra and its rehearsal work from first-hand experience.

Anyone who comes to watch a rehearsal becomes a participant and experiences the musical landscape of the work in close-up. The youngsters explore the work in listening to the rehearsal. They experience the conductor’s interaction with the orchestra and how he influences and inspires them.

The rehearsal is followed by a question and answer session, for sharing and comparing impressions and, if time and interest permit, chatting with individual musicians, who will talk about their instruments.

Orchestra rehearsals can be attended both morning and afternoon, and the event takes the following form:

  • Guided tour and orchestra tuning – 30 minutes
  • Rehearsal attendance – 75 minutes
  • Question and answer session – 15 minutes

Rehearsal attendance is free of charge.
We will be delighted to welcome you, and ask that you arrange your visit in good time.
