Traber, Habakuk: Kent Nagano

Kent Nagano - the conductor as a man of vision. This is the first biography of the charismatic conductor, based on intensive talks with Nagano in which he explains his vision of 21st-century music. As music director of the Opéra National de Lyon the American-born maestro made the opera houses in Paris tremble before the provinces. Ever since he took over as principal conductor and artistic director of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin in September 2000 he has demonstrated to the public that he is not only a musician of the highest calibre, but that he owes his rank among the worlds top-notch conductors to his highly personal philosophy.
Habakuk Traber, born in 1948, studied church music and musicology. As an author he has been active on behalf of the Deutsches Symphonie-Orchester Berlin, the Berliner Festspiele as well as institutions and festivals in German-speaking countries.
